Why I'm Fundraising for KidsOut – Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge
Last Christmas, our team at Biggleswade Dental Centre came together to collect hundreds of presents for children affected by domestic abuse, in support of the KidsOut charity. What made it even more special was how the wider community got involved—patients, friends, and local people all donated to help make Christmas brighter for children who needed it most.
The response was overwhelming - and it really hit home. It made us all realise we wanted to do more.
So now, we’re taking on the Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge to continue supporting these incredibly brave children.
For me personally, this is a big step - I'm not a gym-goer, not a runner, and while I’d rather do this than a marathon, it’s still way out of my comfort zone! I’ve got a pretty serious fear of heights too, so some parts of this are going to be really tough. But that’s exactly why I’m doing it.
In our job, we see people face their fears every day - just walking into a dental surgery is a huge deal for some. But these children didn’t choose their situation. They didn’t ask to be scared, or to need help.
So we’re walking to show them that they’re not forgotten. That someone cares. And that this isn’t just a Christmas one-off. We want to keep showing up, because every child deserves to feel seen, supported, and safe.
Our goal is to raise £300 each. If you can spare anything, no matter how small, it’ll make a huge difference.
Thank you ❤️
